Charities at thames con

It's not just the celebrity guests, performers, & traders who will be providing entertainment & having their own stalls - the wonderful charities we have partnered with will also be joining in the action!

Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary

We are really happy to be joined by the OAS at Thames Con this year. This charity does incredible work in rehabilitating unwanted animals and finding good homes for them.

OAS will be pitched up with their stall located in the outdoor food market area. They will have goodies to give away for free and be selling all sorts of pet treats and accessories to raise money for the Sanctuary. They will also be joined by some of their furry friends!

Models for Heroes

Nestled in with our amazing model display will be Models for Heroes - a non-for-profit company that supply model kits, materials & model making sundries to the mental health organisations & charities around the UK while raising awareness of the mental health benefits of scale modelling.

Models for Heroes  will be being displaying models that veterans have made & raising funds for their charity by selling their collectable merchandise. Make sure you check out their stuff!

The Michael J. Fox Foundation

In the year 2000, Back To The Future actor Michael J. Fox set up the Michael J.Fox Foundation for Parkinsons research. The Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease & to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with the disease.

Team Fox Ambassador & Hollywood props master Robert Widin (aka Dangerous Bob) & his lovely wife Nancy will be on hand for autos & pics, selling T-Shirts, script reproductions, call sheets & more. Best of all 100% of the proceeds go to the Foundation.

Football Stadium Challenge in aid of Helen & Douglas House & Sobell House Hospice

Helen & Douglas House specifically cater & offer end of life care for children, teenagers, young adults & their families. Sobell House offers day services & end of life care for adults & their families also. The work they do really is remarkable.

To help raise money for these Charities, Paul & Stuart have taken on the challenge to visit all 92 football league grounds during one season & trying to get pictures pitch side at the matches! At Thames Con they will be selling raffle tickets, providing fun games for kids & hoping for your support & encouragement.
